As you may have read earlier, for my internship project I am working on a website for Sandfire Dragon Ranch. Due to the fact that Mr. Mailloux is away, I have not been able to publish the website yet because he needs to approve it first. I have been working with another student from HTHCV (High Tech High Chula Vista) to develop this website, because he had already started designing one for his senior project. So what I did was create a new website and over the summer we are going to combine the two websites together.
Creating a website for Sandfire Dragon Ranch was much more difficult than I thought it would be, mostly because of the challenges of collaborating with someone without actually meeting face to face. It was also hard to create a perfect website when Mr. Mailloux was still trying to figure out what he wanted to include. To create the website, I started by brainstorming and writing down all of the possible things that could be included. Next, I organized the ideas into a way that made sense for a website, and created the pages. Then I got to work filling in all of the information I could onto the pages, leaving spaces for information to be filled in by Mr. Mailloux when he returns.
I feel that this project is very important for this company because right now, they only sell animals wholesale to Petco. If we can get this website to be professional and complete, then it might open a lot more doors for business. Below are some screen-shots from the website I was working on.
- Keep in mind that this is an on-going project, and I will be working on it during the summer and beyond. This is just a rough draft and it is not published online at this time.
